Pros: decent entry-level role
Cons: supervisory rigidness; if you're talented, you'll be limited and underchallenged; low wages
I worked for this "overimportant" agency as a part-time Job Coach, and believe I was limited by management insofar as teaching/coaching creativity is (was) concerned (I felt somewhat micro-managed). Also, even though I am (was) qualified to do work in other areas, other than just community-based job training, they had no interest at all in the notion of advancement, or giving me more responsibility. So, if you're young and looking to build your resume a bit, my advice would be to stay away. You can easily find more progressive, liberal agencies in social services, not to mention better paying positions.
