Vocollect was a wonderful company until recently purchased by another company.
Assembler II (Current Employee) – Monroeville, PA – June 13, 2016
Vocollect was a great Company that really cared about the employees & customers. It had great benefits, a family environment, bonuses, good raises and caring upper management. I was proud to come to work everyday. However, it was purchased by a larger company and they moved our production out of the country so my facility is closing. The original employees always work very hard with quality in mind so the customer always has a great experience. That's how Vocollect grew to be the #1 in the industry for Voice Solutions. We will continue to provide this care in our production builds until they close the doors. A lot of great co-workers and due to our cross-training a lot of us know the different facets of production, assembly & repair.
no raises, terrible benefits, no job security, to cut costs - they need to review the upper management - too heavy
Current employee (Current Employee) – Monroeville, PA – July 6, 2014
Since the acquisition of Vocollect by Intermek and then most recently by Honeywell, Vocollect is hardly recognizable from the company it once was and not in a good way. Employees who had been treated as valued employees who mattered - regardless of their position within the company - have been 'demoted' to hourly employees, have had to take a cut in their vacation time, are no longer eligible for quarterly and/or yearly bonuses (yet management somehow are still eligible...??) and come 1/1/15, will be responsible for 100% of all medical expenses until they reach their deductible...all while still having medical benefits (which will be going up) taken out of their paychecks. So not only will we have medical benefits taken out of our pay but we will have to pay 100% of all appointments, x-rays, test, medication, etc. on top of that....some medical plan. What if we never reach our deductible? What is the point of having this then? What are we paying for?? Our days used to be spent actually helping customers but they have now been relegated to taking hours of Honeywell courses. One of them was learning how to sort our paperwork...I kid you not. Since nobody is allowed to work more than 8 hours a day without authorization (which none of the managers want to give) work is not getting done. To say they customers are unhappy is an understatement but try telling that to someone and all you hear is, "That's the Honeywell way...there is nothing you can do". Everyone in every department is miserable and morale is nonexistent. As for 'management'? I'm not even going to comment. I would notmore... recommend this company to anyone as a job possibility.less
