Position: Mechanical Engineer/ Mechanical Designer

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities will include the development and production of Architectural Engineering construction documents. The candidate will be designing and drafting using AutoCAD to develop HVAC and mechanical systems for buildings. The candidate must have strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of Autodesk MEP or Revit is a plus. Typical tasks include preparing plans for chilled and hot water systems for a wide variety of building types while maintaining successful client relationships. Will develop the appropriate quality engineering solutions, coordinate activities with other team members, and assist in production as needed to meet schedules. Must be a self starter and work independently. Coordinate efforts between disciplines and work as a team player. There may also be a need to function as a Project Engineer on specific projects of smaller scope, participate in the firm's marketing effort, and supervise the tasks and methods used by other personnel assigned to the project. You will report to the Principal/Senior Mechanical Engineer and other Senior Principal. Must have skills to begin a project from inception and finish through construction administration for some or many of the following types of projects:

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant design experience, EI or PE, preferred, LEED®AP, CDP, CxA certification a plus, and /or at least 2 years experience in the Architectural Engineering field designing mechanical systems including VAV systems, central plants for commercial, institutional, governmental, and healthcare facilities. Plumbing and or Fire Protection system design knowledge is a plus. The candidate must have knowledge of HVAC systems and load calculations, Florida Model Energy Code, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, ASHRAE standards and Building codes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
