Great company to work for. The people were great! Management..so so.. But the company is without very divided. You are either a Mack person or a Volvo person. This isn't a bad thing... in fact, I would think upper management would play one group against the other to spur competition/innovation?

Working with Volvo I was able to gain a better understanding of corporate communications. This internship furthered my communication and public relations skills and allowed me to contribute knowledge I have gained through college.

Started each morning with a meeting being filled in of our goals. Began work and worked together as a team to get work out. Our supervisors we very through. Everyone worked together in many different section of the goals.

as a absentee welder,you never knew from 1 day to the next what you could be doing.I learned to weld the thinest metal i have ever seen.awsome supervisor.some of the best coworkers i have ever had the pleasure of working with.Manual deck welding is a total pain! literally!I totally enjoyed my job period.

a good place to work at only down side is the job sercurity is very poor as lay offs happen a lot other than that its a good place to be at

If you start at entry level you have room to grow but once you are in management level there is little growth opportunity.

Good job while it last. they lay off almost every year and have temp.shut downs a lot!

I experienced firsthand process of team development and dynamics and completion of experimental tests before a predetermined deadline, worked collectively with a team in running tests on a production engine to quantify frictional and pumping losses, and I managed the dynamometer test installation, performing of tests, and analyzing of test results.

Interning at Vovlo was a tough job, but well worth it. I came out of the job with working knowledge of how purchasing and a management degree are used within the company. Management was very helpful and my co-workers were some of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. Everyone I worked with went above and beyond to help me with whatever – more... It was a very busy enviorment with customers coming in and out constantly. A typical day consisted of awnsering phone calls, doing contracts, taking customer payments and doing the daily close. I learned alot about construction equipment and the uses. Volvo was a very laxed workplace with a weak attendance policy and on time policy. I got along with – more... the co-workers i had. The hardest part of my job was waiting on green tags for the equipment to be sent out. The most enjoyable part of my job was the interaction with new people everyday. – less

Rapid changes and an ever changing fast paced job. I worked very hard to get the position I was given. Loved the people and contractors I was in contact with. Very fun and frendly atmosphere. I would go back if I could have a full time position with this company. The warehouse moved out of the area.

I never though working for a worldwide company like Volvo, would become something so insulting. Upon hire, many of us were promised, at the very least, a secure position with the company with consistant and steady work. Not true! Since the plant opened in Macugie,PA, employees poured their hearts and souls into this facility to make it what it has become – more... today...The worlwide example of all logistics warehouses in the company. Now we're told that we should consider ourselves lucky to even have a job. Employees are now being rewarded with "shut down" weeks with no pay.We are given ETO (earned time off), but its never enough to cover the amount of "shut downs". Management is clueless when it comes to keeping the workplace positive, amoung other things, even in the face of troubling times. Regardless of what we're told when hired, there is no advancement with the company nor even a raise, no matter how hard or well you work, unless you know some one "upstairs". Your opinion does not matter, and in fact, if you speak your mind about anything that bothers you about the company, you yourself with become a target. I've always heard stories about working for a company like this, but I never actually thought I would work for one. – less

Temp position but learned a great deal of engine manufacturing of boat engines. Very effective leadership of in house counsel and VP that cared a great deal about her employees.

Had to leave because management was very abrasive. Workers were good easy to get along with. Could be a Good job. Medical is ok, dental typical poor coverage, and vision sucks also.
