A Daily Goal
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), San Jose, CAMarch 15, 2013
Pros: salary + commission
Cons: short breaks
A typical day at work would consist of 12-14 hours trying to approach as many possible clients as possible due to a daily goal that we had to accomplish.

Fun but...
Sales Representative (Former Employee), Dallas, TXMarch 8, 2013
Pros: long breaks, good money, great management
Cons: long hours (9-10+), no stability
Working for Vonage was fun but, in the end in a sales job you end up working about...well sales. The times where set,the pay was good and the commissions even better, still I could help how boring the job got after a while it became to basic. I'm not one for standing still in the wee hours of the day. I prefer a fast pace and it was unless sales where – more... down like after a holiday rush or something of that nature. Overall it was a good experience that i'll use in store for future endevours. – less

Made mistake in OUTSOURCING
Advanced Operations Technical Support (Former Employee), Holmdel, NJFebruary 27, 2013
Pros: was good great people but they downsized through outsourcing
Cons: outsourcing
I am in fact going to lose my home due to the fact that Vonage and other companies outsourced their upper tier agents now there 1,000's of us out work trying to make ends meet. The main fact we spent time learning and growing to not use it again.

Culture and values are a plus
Analyst (Former Employee), Holmdel, NJFebruary 23, 2013
Pros: free lunches
Cons: healthcare, management, and no work/life balance
I enjoy the culture and values the company had to offer. From the time I had started with the company the morale was great. As co-workers and management come and go, I find it difficult to work with others that come with negative attitude. The hardest part of the job would be the lack of communication the internal communication between group in the – more... organization.

The most enjoyable part of the job would be lunch. – less

This company is only good as a means to make movie ticket money.
Sales Specialist (Former Employee), Tampa, FLDecember 11, 2012
Pros: the company allowed you to break on yr own time.
Cons: just not very advancing or profitable to someone with a family.
The company did not disclose certain information to us until after we were hired. For example that we were only working 19 hours a week only during weekends I was under the impression that it was a full time job. I also thought that the job was an actual establishment that we would report to work. Rather we had to lug around table cloths and various – more... other materials and set up a table inside Walmart stores, soliciting and calling out to Walmart customer to buy home phone service. There didnt seem to much of an interest to customers. Lots of sales pressure given to make quotas on a product that didnt generate much interest. However, I enjoyed talking to the customers. Financially...suffering. – less

Retention/Customer Care Agent (Former Employee), Holmdel, NJOctober 7, 2012
Typical day at work consisted of anserwing customer phones calls and resolving any problems they had.
I learned to be very patient with individuals that are having problems and also learned to multi-task while working.
Management was stern but didn't put much pressure on employees as long as the work was done properly.
Co-workerks were good to work – more... with, most of the time we worked as a team.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with the everyday changes management was making.
The most enjoyable part of the job was satisfying the customers and making them happy. – less

a quite unique experience
Sales Rep (Former Employee), Sacramento, CASeptember 18, 2012
Pros: work almost anywhere, clock in on internet
Cons: work mostly outside. no one wants product
Working as a Sales rep for Vonage has its ups and downs. the good thing is that this job is hourly plus commission, the bad thing is that barely anyone needs or wants your product. Your workplace is in different areas mostly outside where people will allow you to sell the product. You encounter all kinds of people and you really have to step out of – more... your box to talk to people and you also have to know your stuff. the managers help you out as much as they can and they train you hands on. you can clock in through the internet and your job doesnt have to stop at your scheduled hours. The sad thing about the job is inventory control and moving the product into peoples hands. many of the transactions are done through the internet so we ran into people who didnt possess a credit/debit/cash card so we couldn't make any sales. Overall it is a great experience and you can pretty much go anywhere as long as your team is selling well. Too bad for my team that i worked with that wasn't the case. – less

Good Experience
QA Business Analyst ΙΙ (Current Employee), Holmdel, NJSeptember 17, 2012
Pros: excellent experience & exposure for new generations and promotion within in.
Cons: upper management lacks accountability and responsibility
Working here has really given me a lot of experience and exposure to different facets of a call center environment. The skills I've obtained range from fundamental customer service to advanced computer networking and troubleshooting skills to business analysis and process improvement. Some of the more difficult aspects of working for this company is – more... the lack of accountability from management and the ability to push forward on company-wide goals, ultimately impacting team morale. However, the overall benefits of the company are its ability to provide opportunites for learning and professional growth, and its collaborative team environment – less

Corporate Customer Care Agent (Former Employee), Holmdel, NJSeptember 11, 2012
Pros: free lunches and lots of friends to make
Cons: healthcare is expensive and breaks too short.
Very busy all day on phones. I learned what voip over internet means. Management was approachable and easy to talk to. Co-workers were very educated to the vonage way. The hardest part of the job was a dissatisfied customer no matter how you tried to help them. The enjoyable part was learning more how to help customers.

Was a fun place to work
Project/Event Coordinator (Former Employee), Holmdel, NJAugust 28, 2012
Pros: healthcare, company vision, $100 meal card every month
Cons: did not promote from within, division within departments
I learned about about networking, sales, and marketing. Management was ever changing, as the company was rapidly growing when I worked there. We went from sharing folding tables in Edison, to newly renovated office in Holmdel. The co-workers were great, it was like an extended family. The hardest part of the job, was dealing with a lot of the growing – more... pains early on. We had a lot of satisfied customers, but just as many dissatisfied ones too.
The most enjoyable part of the job, were the celebrations every time we hit a new milestone. The biggest being the 1 millionth customer party.... and I cant forget to mention the awesome Holiday Party every year! – less
