Telecommunications Technician, Sterling, VA - September 21, 2014
A typical day is to ensure all of our products work in our lab environment where we test everything before we install it at customers locations. I have learned/gaining experience in networking as a telecommunications technician with a CCNA certification I was brought in to the office to work with routers, switches, wireless communications, passive optical network system, when an IT employee left the company, so I appreciate management giving me the opportunity to work along side engineers and be able to put into use the knowledge I attained from the CCNA certification. Management is fair, the benefits are great, and I have no complaints. The hardest part of the job is having to do something you are not familiar with but with assistance from fellow employees things get done. The most enjoyable part of the job is when I learn to do something/make something work that was not working.
