The Trustees of the Wyandanch Public Library seek a highly motivated professional to manage the daily operations of the Library. The Board is seeking a candidate who will continue to grow and enhance library services to the Wyandanch community through the effective management of library staff, technology, and resources.
The Wyandanch Public Library is a suburban library located in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, which serves a diverse population of approximately 15,000 residents.
Possession of a New York State Public Librarian’s Professional Certificate, and four (4) years of experience in a public library as a professional librarian (professional experience is defined as experience gained after being awarded a Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS), or a Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS) or a New York State Public Librarian’s Professional Certificate); at least three (3) years of this experience must have been at the level of Librarian II or higher; or a satisfactory equivalent encompassing service as a library department head or head of a small branch. The salary will be based on relevant experience.
The Library Director position is a provisional appointment he salary will be based on relevant experience.
