The offices are full of accomplished, mostly Master-level professionals who are striving to serve the "Council of Governments" representing Georgetown, Sorry and Williamsburg counties in a wide variety of services. The Council-hired leadership is very indecisive and does not trust in the abilities of the staff so work is very slowly completed to the detriment of the community served. The organization is chocked full of talent but management style is punitive and controlling and does allow staff the freedom of ownership of their contributions and freedom to do their work unimpeded by hyper micro-management and second guessing.
The organization, if ran like the other Councils Of Governments throughout the state, would be serving a larger segment of the population, developing three times the public-private partnerships and completing a tremendous amount of work in much less time than presently done.
Again, if the management style was opposite of that currently employed ( which would require exchanging top leadership ) the organization would be on par with many of the seller Councils of Governments throughout the state of SC.
