Can someone please explain to me how this security company can hire you - then require that you attend a two day training class in Charlotte - then tell you that they will not be paying you for attending the two day training classes - and then, on the second day of training, they give you a "fee list" of what they say you now owe them and it will be deducted from your first paycheck. . Plus - the second day we were there they tell us that Walden doesn't pay us anything for attending the two day (8 hour plus days) classes, and then makes the new employees sign a document stating that they will pay Walden $143 dollars to be deducted from the first paycheck - for the following: . Uniform deposit: 25 dollars Unarmed Security Officer license fee: 30 dollars Fingerprints: 38 dollars Background Check: 10 dollars (this was in addition to being told that we had to go to the local courthouse in our city and pay 25 dollars to have a background check ran - which we all did and turned those in prior to the two day training class. Administrative Fee: 40 dollars. . . Soooooo - after all is said and done, that's 143 dollars that the new employees are in the hole for before they even set foot on the security post itself - and then add in the lost salary (that they said they won't pay us) for the time/gas/hours for the training classes - 139.20 - for an approximate grand total of 282.20 revenue paid to Walden before we even get to work the actual job. . Wouldn't this be considered as shaking people down for money? Sure seems that way to me. Sorry but thus far I have nothing good to say about this company. .
