out of all the jobs I've had out there Walgreens was by far the worst.
Photo Tech (Former Employee), Seattle, Wa – March 15, 2013
Pros: inspired me to go college so i wouldnt have to exp a job like that again
Cons: walgreens is a selfish corprate glutton now that its no longer family owned
Unless your working in the pharmacy you are started off at around minimum wage, your pay raise is so slow that the next year minimum pay wage catches up and becomes your raise. Management is always taking out there frustration on employees. Employees are overworked and understaffed. for the amount of work they gave me wasnt nearly worth the pay I was – more... givin and I would know considering I've had many jobs in my young lifetime 7 to be exact. Walgreens didnt use to be such a horriable place to work when it was family owned but now that its no longer family owned people started to be treated like a mcdolalds emplyee the higher ups dont give a crud about you all they care about is how much money can they squeeze out of everone. All I have to say is don't look at this play as a longterm job unless your going to work pharmcy, this hell hole inspired me to go back to school to get a real job. – less

Pros: the customers was the best part of my day
Cons: the management team
over all my co-workers was great and very helpful love to train and welcome new people to the team , the management team was hardly ever on the same page but we did get the job done we it came down to it . the heardest part of my day was seeing customers walking out unhappy and the best part was knowing that I and my team did our part in help the customers – more... leave the store happy . – less
Assistant Manager, MGT (Current Employee), 8000 Lake Underhill, Orlando FL – February 20, 2014
Pros: varied benefits
Cons: reduced salaries due to competition
A typical day at work includes meeting with people from different backgrounds and ethnicities, either customers or employees. My friendly disposition makes day shifts all the more pleasant not just for our customers but for my co-employees with which I get to spend many hours.
All of which is affected daily by poor business decisions from upper management – more... which affect customer service, overall customer experience, employee morale and engagement (are still decisions that are understood based on other competitors cost structures), my job is to make sure that me and my team remain positive and keep our customers happy and take care of them regardless of any such grievances.
To help them Be and Stay Well and also Live Happy and Healthy. – less

Walgreen's Pharmacy does not hold the same standards as other corporations. I experience poor management, and unprofessional team leaders. This may not reflect the corporation as a whole, but it does speak volume on how their stores are mismanaged.
I loved the actual job and working with my co workers and working with the customers

Working with Walgreens everyday was different. I had a primary spot for the day depending on what time I arrived. I enjoy every part of my job, customers, co-workers and management. I always was ready to start my day and hated leaving at the end of my shift. I really enjoy meeting so many different people throughout the day and having the chance to – more... just talk with them for even just a moment and make sure they had everything they needed and knew they could call no matter the question or problem. I must admit the hardest part of the job wasn't upset customers when something didn't go as they wanted but, was having enough time in the day to do they extra little stuff. Some days when you clocked in and arrived in the pharmacy it was no stop until you went home so those little extra things you try to do to help out another technician or for the next day don't always get done but, to me, as long as my customers where happy I was happy – less

I had the chance to work in different departments even had the chance to experience what it feels like to work overnight. The hardest part was making sure that you were not being scammed you had to be very detailed behind the register and on the floor. The most enjoyable part was being able to interact with different customers and being able to have – more... them leave your store very satisfied. – less
Store Shift Lead/Assistant Manager (Current Employee), Baltimore, MD – February 17, 2014
Pros: social enviorment
A typical day at work consist of delegating associates, merchandising and monitoring variances. Ensuring that customers are engaged with great customer service and meeting their shopping needs. Through my experience with Walgreens I have learned the importance of elevating customer service, assuring merchandise is placed on the sales floor correctly – more... and promptly, as well as monitoring daily sales goals and plans. The members of the management team are reliable, collaborate well to get the job done at hand, in addition to being accountable for their own actions by sharing humility. The only diffucult moment I may face on my job is seeing the dissapointment in a customer face when we do not have a particular item in stock. I feel as though providing excellent customer care is a priority and that is my intention throughout the day. The most enjoyable part of my job is receiving compliments from the customers about our associates, as well as management staff. It is my priority to ensure that customers have a friendly visit at our establiment. – less
