Decent Location
Accessory Installer (Former Employee) –  Newport News, VAJanuary 18, 2018
Work was not the most enjoyable but it keeps you busy and the pay is decent for the job. The job could be stressful at times and there were also a lot of low work periods in which you didn't get paid due to lack of cars to maintain.

Installer (Current Employee) –  Lafayette, INJanuary 14, 2018
The pay is decent but, doesn't see like enough. They also hire people off the street for management instead of hiring from within. Plus, two shutdowns per year is difficult.

Vehicle Distribution (Former Employee) –  Lafayette, INDecember 29, 2017
Constantly moving, frowned upon if you stopped working. Only allowed to take scheduled breaks. Supervisor made up own schedule with benefits. Put in for time off but was not allowed to take it. HR had confirmed that I was able to take time, but supervisor did not care about the pre approval.
Pros
Great co workers

Poor management

Stretched too thin works too many hours
Production Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Chattanooga, TNDecember 7, 2017
WWL does not paid for the overtime they force their employees to work Volkswagen does. WWL actually makes money when their employees work long hours. There is an absolutely no incentive to change this. The GM stands in front of people and says "things are going to get better" but refuses to make any changes to help the lack of work life balance. This is the worse place I have ever worked. DO NOT GET A JOB WITH WWL......anywhere

Wonderful experience but...
Skilled Installation Technician (Former Employee) –  Dundalk, MDNovember 29, 2017
The pay wasn't fair at all, management will continuously lie to your face and fire you with no problem & the union rep was on the companies payroll. If the union did what they were suppose to do the I could confidantly say that the experience there would have been better.
Pros
wonderful environment
Cons
union was brought and sold, acted continuously for companies best interest

Be prepared to basically live here.
Vehicle Processor (Former Employee) –  Chattanooga, TNNovember 28, 2017
When I first started at WWL, it wasn't bad, forty hour work week, voluntary overtime as needed. Then at the beginning of January it became Mon.-Thurs. 6am till 6pm, Fri.-Sun. 6am till 4:45pm, mandatory. Any time requested off counted (and still does) as a negative occurrence on your overall attendance, six occurrences was an automatic termination. Management's style is " If you have a problem with it, you can walk. One phone call and we can have twenty of you, tomorrow."
Pros
Good benefits, great co-workers
Cons
Management style is very poor, no room for advancement or growth

The people are good to work with.
Opportunities were limited before the merger.
They are even more limited for the foreseeable future.
Many people will be unemployed, so no openings.
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Some managers more concerned with own position

Distribution Driver- Team Lead-Rail (Former Employee) –  Lafayette, INMay 17, 2017
Work is straightforward. Advancement is available and not difficult to obtain. Environment can be very cutthroat. well compensated but if you want to work here for a long time you need to be very careful of what you are doing and what you say as both can end your employment in a heartbeat.

Shop Worker (Former Employee) –  Lafayette, INMay 7, 2017
Fast paced demanding job. The work itself is not hard or complicated you just work a lot of hours and don't always have the choice to pass on overtime. However the pay is great and the benefits package is competitive. The work culture is great and the majority of all the employers get along and make it fun to work here.
Pros
Great pay and benefits. Fun work atmosphere
Cons
Work a lot of hours

Production Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Brunswick, GAFebruary 22, 2017
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with different types of people, and seeing what it takes to push cars out to the public. No day is the same as the last.

Manager (Former Employee) –  Canton, MSFebruary 9, 2017
Company has a great benefit package but the Upper Management is out of sync with the ones who run the company locally. The plant has good workers but the people in Headquarters have no idea of what conditions and pressure the place has.
