Adjunct Professor (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORMay 29, 2015
Counseling OHP clients of all ages. I learned that I must be open minded and accept people where they are at. The business was great but no a lot of teamwork or team building. Management seemed very distant, not a lot of direction.

Productive work environment with strong values
Retention Intern (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORApril 10, 2014
This company values employees and is interested in helping maintain a healthy work environment for all. The stores I worked at had extremely low foot traffic and did not bring in much revenue. Overall, the hardest part of the job was keeping numbers at a satisfactory level due to the lack of customer basis. I did however enjoy how involved district and regional management was with local stores and employees; employees feel known and heard.
Pros
small, personal staff
Cons
high priced merchandise - difficult to sell

Love the people
Human Resources Assistant (Former Employee) –  Portland OregonAugust 2, 2013
I loved working at Warner. I really enjoyed the people and the opportunities to meet new employees. The most enjoyable part of the job was the opportunity to learn and observe all aspects of Human Resources. The experience reinforced my desire to continue on in the field.

Progressive academic environment; fosters autonomy; core culture of social justice.
ADJUNCT PROFESSOR (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORMay 8, 2013
Warner has been a blessing to work with. As an academic institution, the management truly bridges students and professors; all parties feel heard and advocated for. The institution engenders a high amount of integrity and autonomy in course implementation.

Like most academic institutions – there is no 'typical' day for comparison, which is another selling point. You are constantly challenged, and supported, by newness.

Warner compensates its employees very competitively to the market.
Pros
flexibility of curricula; small, intimate institution size; ontology/vocation focus
Cons
rotation of courses; semi-instability of income

Great staff in the Athletics Department
Women's Soccer Assistant Coach (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORDecember 13, 2012
The sports season is essentially three months in length. During this time frame, pre/game/post -season training must be planned, organized and executed. Sessions must be directly correlated with the learning objectives and team goals to ensure a successful season.

Academically, responsibilities include keeping up to date with student-athletes grades by performing osccasional grade-checks to ensure eligibility for competition.

The compensation is a draw-back in that the stipend does not accurately reflect the amount of time being put in by the coaching staff. Perhaps the most time consuming portion of the job occurs outside the season itself during the recruiting phase. The Coaching staff spends countless hours on the road watching prospective student-athletes interested in the program and little to no reimbursement for travel.

Ultimately, the staff and department are great, and the love for the game is what keeps me involved.
Pros
great staff, challenge
Cons
compensation for amount of work put in
