Was great, now struggling
Counselor (Current Employee) – Swannanoa, NC – November 29, 2016
Warren Wilson is a unique higher education experience due to its triad of academics, work and service. All students work a minimum of 10 hours per week on a campus crew. We are in the mountains close to Asheville NC on a beautiful campus with a working farm, many hiking trails. This used to be a great place to work but in the past 10 years the administration (and current president, who is on the way out) have resulted in a severe financial picture which has led to salary cuts and benefits reduction. As a result, morale is low and there is a lot of unrest. Our hope is that things will improve with a new president, an active Board of Trustees, and the ongoing commitment of staff and faculty who believe in the mission of WWC.
Lots of opportunities for collaboration; small higher ed., setting; great students
Reduction of benefits; leadership problems.
