A family orientated environment
Senior Event Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Alexandria, VAJanuary 8, 2017
The Washington Speakers Bureau was a fast paced work environment. The company encouraged every employee to keep a good work/life balance. The management also supported company -family outings through-out the year. A typical day had me working on several events simultaneously wit various clients, speakers and booking agents.
Pros
birthday lunches, company-family outings
Cons
occasional on call for events

Fast-paced environment with great learning opportunities
Senior Associate/Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Alexandria, VAMarch 21, 2013
A typical day at work included speaking to customers and setting their expectations when matching them with a Speaker for their event and walking through all of the logistics of their event to ensure that all needs were met for all stakeholders (client, speaker, sales teams, and event coordinator).

I learned a lot about effective communication. I always felt like I had a voice and that my ideas were listened to. They created a great work environment with quality people. The hardest part of the job was handling the immense work load as it is a sales based company and the selling never stops.

The most enjoyable part of my job was working with the people.
Pros
free lunches, meeting high profile speakers, unlimited time off (within reason)
Cons
heavy work load, poor work/life balance
