Working at WSU was always an educational opportunity, while working there I had learned about Computing/Networking Operations.
When I first started we would monitor the Main Frames and would do the printing for the university. Eventually, WSU was converted to servers.
Computer Operations and Network Operations were eventually combined; the staff of – more... both departments got crossed trained.

A typical day at work would be learning the internal operations; various collaborators, others branches associated with the organization. There was little interaction with management. The co-workers were rarely there due to being at court with the youth. The hardest part of the job was finding houses of clients (without a gps). It was a great opportunity as a student. I learned more about organizational communication. Management was always great to me. My co-workers were vibrant. The hardest part of the job was juggling school and work. I enjoyed learning

i enjoyed working with the part time and full time staff. I especially liked on campus environment and diversity.

This was fun part time job, which included daily activities of making sure that all the computers were running properly in the business department of Wayne State. hardest part might have been lifting heavy printers and computer.

I am doing MS and working as a part time student assistant.
It has been great so far working part time while studying. My supervisor is very nice and helping. I learned a lot over here and I am still learning.

The classroom was so fun to work in,I also enjoyed helping the students before and afetr the classroom. I learned so much about working with individuals and group process.

Senior project was a one semester term class where we were introduced to concepts of conducting research. We were expected to understand the process and write a paper equivalent to standards of a journal paper. We were questioned on our understanding of the concepts involved by faculty members.

I would recommend a different graduate school for philosophy.

A typical day at work or at home is always amazing, you learn new things everyday and I can say that I have not had not a bad day at a job or school. I keep the negative where it's at. I like to stay positive with high hopes and I don't let nobody bring me down or steal my joy.

Great place to work. The job is steady. No very busy time. The health care and retirement are wonderful

Worked while studying at the same school. Very good experience. Learnt a lot and interacted with a lot of people.

On a typical day, one will see about one hundred students come through the office. The staff members are helpful and will do their very best to help the students. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the angry students and sometimes parents who have waited until the last minute to finalize paper work. Has a great veriety of equipment and buildings, which garenteed a great deal of possibilities to add to your knowlege base.

A typical day at work involves anything from entering an application into the University system to helping a student find their lost cell phone. It usually starts off quiet with checking email and voice mail messages, then escalates into problem solving for students and staff. I have learned a lot about different cultures, communities and myself. My – more... supervisor is the greatest person in the world to work for, but it is time for me to grow and move on and she supports me wholeheartedly. My co-workers are generally nice and value what I do for them. The hardest part of my job is the constant work flow, but this is where my multi-tasking skills come in handy. The most enjoyable part is satisfying an agent and/or student and receiving praise after I have helped them solve their problem in a timely manner. – less

This position entailed the use of organization and coordination skills in order to support a undergrad student learning community group.

Hardest thing about the job was keeping track of members and events.

I love the corporate culture at Wayne State and as a student employee, my experience here is second to none. The most enjoyable part of my job is helping patrons. I have learned how to manipulate multiple Wayne state data base systems, review records, and use reference interview to answer questions.
