Job Title: Teacher’s Assistant Reports To: Facility Supervisor Job Type: Part-Time
Department: Child Development Rate of Pay: $8.00 per hour (7-8 hours/week)

Job Summary
We “R” Kids Christian Academy is currently looking for a part time Teacher Assistant to assist in developing children from the ages of 18 months to 5 years old. If you enjoy working with children, and find Child Development rewarding, this is the job for you!! Under general supervision, the Teacher’s Assistant will assist with the developmental care and supervision to children enrolled in the facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Carries out mission, vision, and values established by the Director and Facility Supervisor
Participates in the Organization Quality Improvement process
Supervises health and safety need of children on and off grounds, including field trips
Assist Child Care Teacher in implementing lesson plans that nurture/stimulate development
Keep classroom neat and orderly
Assist in the implementation of programs encouraging parent involvement and development
Responsible for securing health, hygiene, safety, and overall well-being of children
Assists in the preparation of an individualized lesson plan for each child
Creates an inviting and stimulating environment by actively soliciting parent input
Assist in maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly logs and reports
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Standards:
High School Diploma, or equivalent
TB test clearance, to be renewed every two years
Prior experience working in a child care environment is a plus

Acute Audio and Visual Motor Skills
Excellent Observance Skills
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Effective Time Management Skills
Ability to lift 30 pounds
Ability to be flexible (i.e. bending, kneeling, squatting)
