As a back end software engineer, you love creating rock-solid, reusable, scalable code that is easily maintainable. Debugging, problem solving and getting things to work are why they call you an engineer. Your strengths are in back-end development with PHP, MYSQL and Linux, but are comfortable with front-end development using HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. You have a love-hate relationship with PHP (and know the benefits of a full-stack Ruby or Python framework) but pride yourself on developing elegant solutions for an imperfect world. You have code on Github. You excel in a team oriented environment, and at the same time have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.


Fluent in PHP 5 and object-oriented patterns
Proficient with MySQL and DynamoDB
Experience with Responsive Web Design (desktop, mobile and tablet devices)
Experience with Javascript and frameworks such as jQuery and jQueryUI.
Experience in semantic HTML5 and CSS3, and comfortable with LESS preprocessors
Experience working in open-source LAMP environment, including SSH
Solid understanding of web technologies such as REST, HTTP, JSON
Solid understanding of testing concepts and practices (unit testing, test automation, …)
Working experience with Git
Experience with Amazon Web Services hosting and infrastructure
Experience with MVC frameworks such as Codeigniter, Cakephp, Yii, Zend, Laravel
Must be able to take initiative to be productive and efficient
