Definitely a good place to work, especially if you have other priorities or youy if you're a student

Pros: they have games and incentives for motivation
This is a very good job especially if you have a hectic schedule such as school. They work around you're schedule. They are sensitive to your needs and they really take care of their employees. I have yet to run into any difficulties with the job which is an excellent thing. As a student I really love that I can take a few days to go home during breaks – more... and still have a place when I'm back, they treat you like family. – less

Sub Shop Team Leader (Former Employee), Jamestown, NY – February 17, 2014
Pros: family orinented, easy to advance, great atmosphere
Cons: hard to get time off around holidays
Wegmans was by far the best place I have ever worked at. The only reason why I left the company was because we moved to a place where there wasn't a Wegmans. They even offered to transfer me to another store. I may not have gotten the same position, but they would try to find something similar. The only thing I can say that might turn people away is – more... that it's extremely customer service oriented. If you don't like to give customer service your 110% then this isn't the place for you. I know of a few people who left because they couldn't handle that expectation. Wegmans really cares for their people. Speaking from experience, I recently went through several family deaths and even though I used up my leave, they actually encouraged me to take the time off that I needed. They are great and if I get a chance to work for them again, I would in a heartbeat. – less
Cashier (Former Employee), Auburn, NY – January 29, 2014
Pros: it taught me how to communicate with our diverse society.
Cons: it was too expensive, too time consuming, and it was not stable
I enjoyed this job but with today's economy I would never consider doing this type of work. I sold Cutco Knives. I would call to set up appointments where I would do demonstrations of the knives and products which I would have to buy myself first. It was expensive to get started. It is a good product but today people don't want to spend money on knives – more... when they can go to Walmart and buy a set every year for pennies. – less
Produce Customer Service (Current Employee), Bridgewater, NJ – January 22, 2014
Pros: people, benefits
Cons: busy, physical, hard work
As a Customer Service employee I am always on my feet, stocking items and interacting with customers. I've learned so much about food safety and work safety working here. Everyone is so friendly and loves helping people. Occasionally you get a tough customer, but for the most part there's a atmosphere of respect. I love being able to help someone out – more... with a meal or put a big smile on their face by grabbing something from the back when we run out. – less
