Relaxed but a little too quiet at times
Finance Analyst/Associate (Current Employee) –  Manhattan, NYNovember 29, 2017
People are very friendly but keep to themselves for the most part. Management lets you know the work you must complete then leaves you to it. It would be nice to speak to someone every now and then.
Pros
Not stressful at all
Cons
Too quiet

Difficult work environment
Application Delivery Lead (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 3, 2017
The name is significant and carries a bit of prestige, but that is all. The management has a confused and often changing direction resulting in a lot of redundant efforts and greatly impacts overall efficiency. This puts an already understaffed workforce in a constant state of flux.
Pros
Flexible remote work is possible. Good, hard working coworkers.
Cons
Wishy-washy management. Unbelievable scope creep. Unrealistic delivery expectations.

Patient Coordinator (Former Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 30, 2017
Best part of the job are the benefits. Good place to work depending on the department, not much room to advance. Take advantage of the tuition reimbursement.

Weill Cornell Workplace
Practice Coordinator (Current Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 23, 2017
Weill Cornell Medicine is a fantastic place for employment as there is high job diversity within the organization. Unfortunately, there is very little room for growth and the culture flooded with the mentality of complacency and under-achievers. Those you perform above and beyond seldom reap benefits and recognition and therefore leave the company. High turnover isn't uncommon and sadly has become the norm.
Pros
Excellent physicians, community feel, great benefits
Cons
Little room for expansion, non competitive wages compared to surrounding hospitals, high turn over.

Sr. Medical Secretary & Portal Administrator (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 16, 2017
WCM is a great company to work for. The only downside is that there isn't too much room for growth within your department. If you're looking to grow, you would have to eventually find a higher position in another department.
Pros
Great Healthcare, outings, bonuses
Cons
Can cause stagnation

Great entry level job, but don't trust the management
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 14, 2017
Great place to learn as a new grad RN. It looks great on a resume and the name has a good reputation. The only big downside was the nurse management was really bad. It wasn't obvious at first and I have never said this about another company, but it was really awful in the end and I am happy I left. I have never had such an uncaring manager and it seems to be a trend in the whole hospital.
Pros
pay, experience
Cons
short staffed, missed breaks, bad management

Chief Research Associate (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 3, 2017
A great place to work in terms of coworkers. However, there are quite a bit of restrictions. The environment is very structured, which can mean unnecessary paperwork and lack of flexibility.

"You don't quit your job, you quit your manager"
Research Specialist (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMay 18, 2017
I'm sure WCM can be a great place to work if you are in a department where management style is such that allows for collegial exchange, advocates teamwork, and respects subordinates. Get a manager who can lead with maturity and clear, positive communication skills, not by intimidation and arrogant posturing. Rewarding bad behavior/attitude will only lead to high turnover.
Pros
Position allowed for good work-life balance; good benefits and vacation.
Cons
Manager has incompetent people skills; no EQ/EI

Executive Assistant, Administrative Specialist (Current Employee) –  New York, NYApril 26, 2017
I worked as temp on 3 different assignments over the course of 5 months. Each time Cornell has asked me to return. Unfortunately I have not been hired as an permanent employee. I consistently apply online for permanent positions available with the same title but have not recieved a request for an interview. Other wise great place to work.
Pros
6 month probationary periods
Cons
Great benefits; will pay for some of your childs college edu no matter what school he/she attends
