Hostile environment; leaders fire other leaders and their best employees "just because"
Professional (Current Employee), Kentucky – May 14, 2012
Pros: compensation
Cons: leadership
DO NOT work for WellCare if you live in Kentucky. Managers will constantly remind you that you are an "at-will" employee and KY is an "at-will" state, meaning that they can fire you at any time, for any reason, whether or not they have a legitimate reason. This allows managers to bully their direct reports, because everyone is afraid he or she will – more... lose his/her job at any time. HR has no policies against the bullying of employees, so they may even tell you that they're aware of it, but cannot do anything about it. DO NOT be lured in by a good salary offer. Be forewarned, if you do decide to work for WellCare, prepare to be miserable and overworked every day. – less

Member Engagement Coordinator (Former Employee), Tampa, Florida – April 5, 2012
Cons: temporary assignment
I worked for a staffing company Hiregy Staffing Soluntions in which they contract with Wellcare Health Plans. The job was perfect fit, I enjoyed helping members to understand their benefits and healthplan.
WellCare could be a great company to work for but that hasn't been my experience. There are so many issues that are simply ignored by all levels of management. This is the only place I've ever worked where most of the employees are waiting to post out in hopes that the whole company isn't screwed up.
Compensation with this copany is excellent, needs work on nailing down specifics for a more stablized enviornment for providers, quite flexible, friendly.
A fun place to work but also a place where the work does get done
Lead Claims Specialist (Former Employee), Tampa, FL – November 13, 2011
Pros: food on site
I think they had great benifits and room for advancement. I was able to learn a lot about the processing of both the HCFA and UB claims. As a employee for this company I was able to learn different aspects of the processing.
