Cashier (Former Employee), Shelby Township, MI – March 20, 2013
Usually worked on register for first 6 hours, then stock, clean and do till. I learned that I really like working with the public. My co-workers were happy and upbeat people to work with in and outside of job. Hardest part was to stand in one place for 6 hours--I am used to moving around.

Independent Workplace
Inside Sales/Customer Service/Remote Ops (Current Employee), Nashville, TN – February 26, 2013
Pros: the ability to work independently
Cons: high levels of stress and tension in the building.
I was hired by RECO which is a division of WESCO.
WESCO purchased RECO 2 years ago.
Day to day operations include inside sales, research and problem solving. With only myself and (2) assistants, task assignments are orgainized and flow smoothly.
Management is located in AL and in Ohio. I handle day to day operations on behalf of management for the Nashville – more... location.
RECO moved from it's previous location in July of 2012 and into the WESCO building in Nashville where RECO rents (3) cubical spaces. WESCO's Management and it's employees are constantly at odds resulting in screaming, shouting and alot of tension on a daily basis.
I've never seen anything quite like this in my 38 years of employment. – less

Fun work enviroment
Sandwich Artist (Former Employee), Reed City, MI – February 5, 2013
Pros: positive atmosphere, room to grow
Cons: shot breaks
I loved working here. The people were fun, my boss was fantastic and work was always interesting. Felt like a family here. Hardest part of the job was helping customers. Not because I was bad at it or anything, but after working a ten hour shift going on eleven and still helping customers, it got just a touch harder to keep up the smile but I did my – more... best, and had no complaints in the two years I worked there. – less

Taxing and ridiculous
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Greenville, MI – January 4, 2013
Pros: benefits and enviroment
Cons: work load, training time, and management structure.
The Assistant managers position at Wesco seems like a very worth while job opportunity until you are stuck in their interview and training processes for two year before you get any additional pay or benefits. Getting stuck due to one person who has decided that you are not yet good enough to move forward is a warped way of doing things. It is something – more... that should be decided by more than one person. – less

Hard working people, a large company with a lot to learn
District Lighting Projects Associate (Former Employee), Indianapolis, IN – October 17, 2012
Pros: salary, health benefits
Cons: no training, not family oriented. always expected to put job before your family
I was excited to take on my new role and learn more about the lighting industry at Wesco. However, they did not have although resources to properly train me. Although I did learn to take on several tasks and how to help some of our smaller contractors with minimal help, I believe this company overlooks the smaller businesses at times. The pay and benefits – more... were good but I was a single mom and working over an hour away from home. I was expected to devote my entire life to this job and as much as I enjoyed working with my customers, my children came first.
There are good people who work there but I do hope that they can become a more family oriented company someday as well as considering some proper training for new employees.
At my last few days at wesco I saw them lay off or fire several employees. They started with the ones that had been there for over 20 years and were close to retirement. I think this is a very good indicator of what kind of company this is. The management cares more about the money than the people they have working for them. I was relived to be laid off myself. – less

Cashier (Former Employee), Fruitport, MI – October 10, 2012
Pros: college reimbursement program
The customers were number one in this company. As it should be. The company worked hard to see that all stores had equipment and were mantained up to the Wesco standard. I truly enjoyed this job.
