Manager/Collector (Current Employee), Elma, NYMarch 3, 2015
The ability for employees to utilize the previous experience in managing their time is not available. Daily obstacles with no future outlook do not allow for the expansion of careers or the company.

THIRD PARTY RECOVERY SPECIALIST (Current Employee), Sherman, TXMarch 2, 2015
Could be worse. Typical day is making calls to people who don't want to pay their bills, asking them to pay their bills. So, there is a lot of tension and stress involved

Friendly co-workers. Reletively easy work. Call center atmosphere, but hour long lunches I like. The hardest part is getting used to the systems

Small office with little room for upward advancement.
Operations Supervisor (Current Employee), West Des Moines, IANovember 12, 2014
Pros: monthly bonus opportunity for some clients location and tuition reimbursement benefit.
Cons: annual raises not provided.
Promoted to Operations Supervisor from online billing representative position. Small office with no opportunity given size for career advancement unless willing to relocate. Entry level pay not competitive with market. Client turnover is high and ever changing. Most recently suffered client loss to offshore move.

great set of employees to work with, made for a fun work enviroment
Recovery Specialist (Former Employee), West Des Moines, IAOctober 31, 2014
Pros: bonuses, i received a 8 k bonus for one month in 2008
Cons: no advancement opportunities and medical benefits were very costly
This was a goal oriented position, there were call goals, contact goals and conversion goals, daily and monthly. I enjoyed the goal challenges and closing the deals on settlements with executors of estate whether it be with a family member or the estate attorney.. nothing really hard about this job "for me" the repetition of pounding the same accounts and talking to the same people and not getting anywhere as far as workable arrangement that worked for both us and the responsible party could get frustrating, however every month we were given new accounts and with those came new challenges

UNPROFESSIONAL WORK PLACE
Loss Mitigation Representative (Former Employee), EARTH CITY, MOOctober 2, 2014
Cons: job closed down/ moved to another state
I REALLY DISLIKED WEST ASSET MANAGEMENT BECAUSE THEY WERE UNPROFESSIONAL THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT AND THE BUSINESS WAS ON A SALARY CAP. THE MANAGERS SHOWED FAVORTISM TO THIER FAMILY MEMBERS AND CUT THEM SLACK LEAVING THE HARDEST BUNCH OF THE WORK TO FALL ON OTHER EMPLOYEES.

Account Recovery Representative (Former Employee), Sherman, TXSeptember 26, 2014
If you can handle the life at a call center for collections this is a great place to work. I loved my manager and then company. It has a high turnover rate but that has to do with the work involved.

Unreachable goals, gossipy, dreary, drpressing environment
Claims Auditor/Validator (Former Employee), West Des Moines, IASeptember 7, 2014
Cons: unreachable goals, no benefits for 3 months
This is not a place I would recommend. The atmosphere was gossipy, dreary, and depressing. The worst part is that the management was also in on the gossip, which is very unprofessional, in my opinion. The goals they give are unreachable and the turnover is extremely high.

Senior Agent/Team Leader (Former Employee), Warsaw, NYJuly 23, 2014
Pros: close to home
Cons: stress
I learned how to communicate with all different types of people and personalities. Management was very goal driven always striving to do better. Co-workers were usually very helpful and knowledgeable of job and responsibilities that had to be done. The hardest part of was contacting consumers and making them understand the responsibilities that they had to maintain by resolving the accounts that they created.
The most enjoyable part was self gratification knowing that I was able to help someone resolve an account when they thought there was no hope and they would never be able to take care of it. Some consumers were very grateful that I was able to education them on what they needed to do to help themselves and possibly further them self in life.
