For more than nine decades, West Coast University, white open to all qualified applicants, has particularly sought to provide effective educational programs primarily directed to fully employed, highly motivated men and women who have the sincere desire to increase their job security, to improve their career prospects, and to accelerate their personal – more... development through a program of evening education. Responsive to the internationalization of the area, the University over the past few years has increased its efforts to recognize a broader constituency and encourages the enrollment of international students whose experience or career goals match those of its domestic student population.

Guided by this purpose, the University has defined academic and professional goals in the fields of management. computer science and engineering on both the graduate and undergraduate levels. These goals emphasize: the development of insight in and understanding of the fundamental ideas and methods of mathematics, business, engineering, the humanities, and the physical and social sciences; the development of scientific application of this knowledge to innovative solution of real-world problems; and the development of skills in effective communication, documentation and productive collaboration.

In working toward these goals. West Coast University has developed comprehensive and highly concentrated graduate and undergraduate curricula. An outstanding faculty of practicing professionals - managers. scientists and engineers from industry, business and government who also have extensive teaching experience ¡ª successfully relate the theory of the classroom to the context of the ¡®real¡¯ world. The degree programs are highly accelerated and rely on a carefully matched schedule of courses in a format of evening and weekend classes. In addition, West Coast University has been able to maintain tuition rates which are at least comparable with other accredited, independent institutions offering similar educational programs.

Classes arc conducted at four convenient locations - in the Wilshire District of Los Angeles, on Union Bank Square in the city of Orange. in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, and in the city of Lompoc in Santa Barbara County.

Thousands of working adults throughout Southern California have successfully completed degree programs at West Coast University, and have benefited through increased insight, understanding and skill. In all, more than 30,000 students, including employees of over 1,000 companies and public agencies, transfer students from some 500 colleges and universities throughout the United States, and students from nearly 40 foreign nations, have attended evening classes at West Coast University.
