horrible place to work

you are treated like a robot. very unfair. the whole place is like a high school with back stabbing drama. physical labor with 'hardly' any advancement. nothing was enjoyable.

It was a great place to work with great employee discounts.

West Marine is a very fun and interesting place to work. It wasn't just sales it was product knowlegde,precise ordering, stocking and placement. It was much more than being a Sales Associate. I liked that.

Not a place to make a living from

This company does not pay employee's enough money for the work that they do. Other companies pay more for the posistons that West Marine has and the other companies also have better bennefits. Insurance is not worth having unless you need the medical for some specific reason, or if you need the vision for eye care.

West Marine is a good place to work for if you own or have lots of knowledge with boats. Problem is where I work it's a seasonal position. Business has begun to slow down and payroll hours have been cut. But when business is booming it's very fun to work. Even when it's slow.
