SisterHood Tutor, Cleveland, OH - July 15, 2014
Tutors clock in. Girls eat their lunch and then we worked with them on their English homework or school projects. After that we'd do a group building exercise together with the girls were we talked about self-esteem, love, strength and what it means to be a young girl in today's society. Then we concentrated on any unfinished homework, gave snacks and packed the girls up to go home. My manager was a nice woman who respected us and helped us out whenever possible. Even though she dealt with the loss of a family member during my time there she was still a really cool individual throughout the entire process. She loved the girls and did everything in her power to help them. I would go back and tutor the girls again if I wasn't seeking other job opportunities. The hardest part of the job was getting the girls to do their homework and learn properly. That didn't have alot of faith in themselves as far as education went. The most enjoyable part of the job is when they finally got it! And understood what they were being taught.
