The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications. Primary responsibilities of the Director will include: implementation and management of a successful media, public relations, and marketing plan via web, print, social/digital media, news releases, and any other key media in order to enhance the prestige and goodwill of the College and to ensure that the needs and reputation of the College are optimized. Additionally, the incumbent will have the responsibility for all ECAS web sites, and has supervisory authority over the web master. The Director must have an understanding and knowledge of web site design (including web site architecture, navigation, functionality, graphics) sufficient to effectively manage the ECAS website.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum five years of professional work experience in media, public relations, and marketing; primarily in social, print, and digital media. The position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. The successful candidate will also possess superior writing and editing skills, leadership skills, and the ability to work successfully with a variety of constituents.
