SUMMARY The Front Office Coordinator is primarily responsible for overseeing the duties and functions of the non-clinical staff within the practice and ensures that they are carried out with accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, overseeing the input of patient data, check in, check out, co-pay and patient payment collections, insurance eligibility and appointment confirmation. This role also requires the incumbent to perform receptionist duties as well as, monitors the waiting room area, evaluating patient satisfaction; supervising that the medical records are maintained according to the legal requirements for all medical documents; and ensuring appropriate staffing for all functions..
In addition works closely and collaboratively with the Physicians and the Practice Manager to ensure efficient patient flow and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a healthcare environment in a patient registration/reception or billing/accounting role and previous supervisory experience preferred.
Education: Associate’s degree required. Knowledge of medical billing practices, policies and procedures, coding and operating policies. Skilled in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and running calculations.
