The Land Conservancy is a regional, not-for-profit land trust that permanently protects over 5,000 acres of land with significant conservation values in Western New York for the benefit of future generations. We envision a future in which open spaces, working lands, wildlife habitat and scenic beauty are cherished and protected as part of the landscape and character of Western New York. The Land Conservancy service area is the eight counties of Western New York.
The Western New York Land Conservancy is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator. The Development Coordinator works with the Executive Director to execute the fundraising efforts of the Land Conservancy, including assisting with development and implementation of the fundraising plan, preparing fundraising reports, recruiting and retaining members and assisting with appeal letters. Marketing and outreach efforts will include: press releases, the newsletter, website and social media, and presentations to community groups and elected officials.
The Development Coordinator plans and organizes fundraising events, is the staff liaison to the Development Committee, and assists with the major donor program, grants research, planned giving and the volunteer program.
The position requires a passion for conservation and the Land Conservancy’s mission, excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with non-profit fundraising and marketing and a Bachelor’s degree.
The ideal candidate will be proficient with social media and website upkeep, a team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and work collaboratively with staff, Board of Directors, members, and volunteers.
The Development Coordinator will be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks, work independently with a high level of accountability and attention to detail, exhibit diplomacy, patience, a sense of humor and will always uphold confidentiality. Experience with membership databases and a background in conservation is preferred. A willingness to use a personal-vehicle for work-related travel and work flexible hours is required.
Excellent work environment on our Kenneglenn Scenic Nature Preserve. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
