About WESTERN STATES PETROLEUM
WSP was the first company in Arizona to bring Biodiesel to the state, over 10 years ago. Little was known about Biodiesel at that time, other than it was a vegetable oil alternative to the standard Diesel fuel. When that first train rolled in full of Biodiesel, it was made of what had been French Fry Oil and it smelled like it. As the years and technology – more... improved (and the smell), biodiesel began taking a hold across America.
Today, WSP is still bringing in railcars of Agri Biodiesel, direct from a producer in Iowa. In the past two years, WSP is a proud supporter of a local refinery that produces biodiesel from used oil. Currently, both types of Biodiesel are available for delivery or pick up at our plant. Most importantly, WSP was the fourth marketer in the entire country to be certified as a BQ9000 Marketer.
The BQ9000 is the governing standard for quality assurance in biodiesel production, handling and marketing. You can rest assured that the biodiesel WSP sells to you has been handled, stored and has perfect product quality, as our BQ9000 stamp of quality assurance requires.
To compliment our move into "green" fuels, WSP also sells E85. Three years ago, Bob recognized that consumers were purchasing vehicles that could run on E85, yet there were no public E85 fueling stations available anywhere in the Metro Phoenix Area. To answer the need for those consumers that wanted to run a cleaner burning fuel, Bob installed a E85 fueling station at the plant for consumers to be able to drive in and fill up...often at a lower cost than gasoline. Today, we are proud suppliers of E85 to several Valley Stations and serve over 100 customers a week at our will call office! – less – More from ZoomInfo »
