Operator, Saint Paul, MN - January 11, 2016
You start as a temp. Once hired the pay is pretty decent and the benefits are really great. They want A LOT of over time. 12-14 hours 5 days a week OR they want you to work 10 hours Mon-Fri and come in on the weekend too. The managers are not supportive at St. Paul location and there are only about 4-6 people operating the whole plant. They are severely understaffed and there is a high turnover. Management tends to make promises and then not follow through. They pay well, so it seems they figure they can treat the employees any way they please. The job itself if a physical and smelly one, but that is to be expected when making animal feed. If pay and benefits are your goal and you aren't afraid of hard work, this is the place for you. Definitely not the place for you if you are seeking fulfillment, or good environment, or encouraging and supportive managers or trainers.
