JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Communications Specialist/Communications Content Engineer III (“the Specialist”) is responsible for enhancing the communications and image of client with various internal and external public by assisting the Director of eMarketing and Communications in implementing the strategic communications plans for the system. Specifically, the Specialist will serve as the web administrator for client. The Specialist implements and manages systems and procedures to assure high quality digital and printed communication products and services that meet client initiatives. The Specialist takes primary responsibility for client Web sites and client intranet, content management, vendor management, and other media projects such as video, PowerPoint presentations, and multimedia projects; assists Director of eMarketing in planning and developing ties between print publications, Web sites, video projects and other marketing programs; and assists with the implementation of the system identity program and adherence to graphic standards. Under the direction of the Director of eMarketing, the Specialist manages the coordination of internal and external system campaigns and promotional plans, oversees day-to-day operations, and implements Web-based marketing strategies and tactics. These projects may include the production of system publications, communications campaigns, promotional pieces and other collateral materials. Travel requirements: maybe up to 50% of job, as needed.

The Senior Communications Specialist will be in a position to interface daily with various public and constituents, including senior leadership at the system and regional level, board members, Communications Council, Information Management, news media representatives, community and political leaders and the general public. The Specialist will provide daily supervision and guidance for the Communication Specialist/Content Engineer with his or her interfacing with members of the Communications Council and leadership as need for web-related projects and content management. The Specialist will be privy to and responsible for confidential corporate information, including strategic plans, financial information, risk management situations and patient information.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Skills: Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or equivalent. Graduate work preferred. Knowledgeable of marketing communications theory; skilled at producing media projects; excellent knowledge of video and interactive technologies. Proficiency using web design software applications (Photoshop, Fireworks), Content Management Systems and knowledge of web technology/programming languages (JavaScript, HTML, etc.) required.

Experience: Possess at least 7 years of experience in the field of marketing, communications and media relations. Must have a thorough knowledge of communications and marketing theory and their applications to the health care field. Experience with deploying mobile and social channels to support business objectives. Heavy emphasis on campaign management, media production and Web site development, as well as technical project planning and implementation.

Technical Skills: Experience with Dreamweaver and Photoshop
