The Earl Center for Learning and Innovation at Wheelock has become a safe space for many students, staff, and faculty. We're a mix between an event space, a curriculum library, and a makerspace, so no two days are alike. Sometimes nobody is around, but there are always projects to work on. The supervisor always encourages her staff to challenge the status quo, and often throws us into things that can help us grow. The easiest and hardest part of the job is breaking out of your comfort zone, but there are so many skills to develop, and people to meet! The hierarchy is there, but it's relaxed, so the job often feels like a paid mentorship.
