When Whidbey Furniture first opened in 1948, the first store occupied just 3,500 square feet and offered its customers furniture, appliances, toys and some of the first televisions on Whidbey Island. Twelve years later, Sid moved the store to its current location on Pioneer Way. For over 40 years until his retirement in 1988, Sid enjoyed serving generations of Whidbey Islanders including countless families brought to the island by the US Navy and Marines. Sid's son, Les, joined the business in 1970. Today Whidbey Furniture boasts over 25,000 square feet of display room and $1,000,000 of in stock inventory ready for delivery.
