Full time and part-time opportunity to assist the developmentally disabled or the mentally ill with activities of daily living. Will be responsible for providing a therapeutic atmosphere by following each resident’s individual treatment plan. Would oversee the health, care, and welfare of all assigned consumers (adults, adolescents, or children) and, at times, be involved in off site activities (recreation, appointments, shopping, etc.). As the member of the multi-disciplinary team, write and present on a specific number of consumers (staffing reports, team meetings, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires HS diploma/GED with at least 1 year experience with the populations mentioned above; BA/BS in Human Services with experience is preferred. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is preferred and the applicant must be insurable under the company’s insurance carrier in addition to having their own personal auto insurance coverage. Position is part-time, however applicant's must be available full-time for the first two weeks for paid training/orientation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the client population is helpful. Must be able to develop skills that will enhance communication with residents, staff, parents/guardians and community contacts. Ability to understand and follow the rules of confidentiality. Ability to be flexible and available for work assignments. Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for consumers, including appearance, language and suitable responses to certain situations. Ability to follow the approved consumers treatment and intervention methods/techniques.
Wage: $8.00 to $11.04 per hour
