Pros: winchester nurses are cherished by their patients, and the community.
Cons: certain needs for complex care, require that patients, be transferred to another hospital.
A typical day at work at Winchester Hospital is rewarding and highly interactive. There is opportunity to address a great deal of patient management issues and to interact with families. There are frail persons of advanced age. There are patients sent to surgery in orthopedics, vascular, general, and bariatric procedures. Also cancer treatment. Also

I was lucky to encounter the best nursing managers that I have worked with in my entire career of 40 years. They are highly motivated persons who take special interest in the nurses they manage and the goals of providing the best care to patients. They were very available and open to interact with their staff.
The most difficult part of the job was to tolerate certain situations in general and vascular surgery, where there was to little value on the nurses input during rounds and careplanning. This I believe is attributed to the fact that surgeons must work at a very intense pace in order to practice. The hospitalists were exceptional in plannig care and communicating plans to the nurses.
The most enjoyable aspect of the job is to be part of a community such as Winchester. A Winchester Nurse is a cherished professional, who has a very dedicated and capable system of individuals to assist you in a mission of care excellance. – less
