Keeping customers' chilled cedar-lined cellars stocked with premium Italian and regional wines and putting a nice bottle of Giacosa's Barbaresco Santo Stefano on their tables is Winebow's area of expertise. The New Jersey-based company imports and distributes wine, champagnes, sparkling wines, fortified and dessert wines, aperitifs, and other spirits. Winebow boasts a portfolio of more than 4,000 labels from around the world; it maintains agreements with 75 producers in Italy and 20 in Spain. The company's Italian selections represent wines from most of that country's 20 regions. Winebow distributes wine in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.
Specializing in Italian wines, the company also offers vintages from more than 30 countries, including Spain, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, Scotland, Brazil, and Japan.
The company realigned its leadership ranks as a result of steady growth in recent years (which included the 2008 acquisition of Seattle-based Click Wine Group). At the beginning of 2011 president Jon Moramarco added the title of CEO, which had been held by founder and chairman Leonardo LoCascio. (LoCascio retained the role of chairman following Moramarco's promotion.) Moramarco, who joined Winebow in early 2010 as president, is responsible for the firm's day-to-day operations and is teaming up with LoCascio to work on overall strategy, emphasizing Winebow's portfolio of domestic and import labels. – less
