Wiser Company, LLC was founded in May of 1996 by Cyrus W. Wiser who, at the time, was the City Engineer for the City of Murfreesboro. After years of dealing with a wide array of vendors and elevating the City's Engineering Department to "state-of-the-art", Cy felt that a company based on developing a partnership with their clients and providing – more... complete client service was essential to ensure the best possible engineering products to municipal and large scale commercial customers.
Since it's beginning with five employees on the second floor of a converted house, Wiser Company has grown to over 100 employees with two offices serving a broad spectrum of clients throughout the southeast and beyond. In 1999, Glenn A. Beckwith, PE, Planning Director for Tennessee Dept. of Transportation, left a long and illustrious career with the state and joined Wiser Company as Engineering Manager. Glenn's 40 years of experience enabled Wiser to become a leader in providing transportation design services to TDOT, ALDOT and municipal clients. We have also enjoyed a good deal of growth in providing Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, NPDES permitting and other environmental services to clients throughout the southeast.
Wiser has emerged as a leader in the Construction Management sector, and has been instrumental in providing services essential to the rapid growth of it's home town of Murfreesboro, TN, by overseeing the expansion of the Medical Center Parkway corridor as well as many road and highway projects.
In addition to typical engineering services, Wiser Company established itself as a "leading edge" provider of Mapping and GIS services. We have provided mapping services on the Federal, State and Local level for projects from Boston to Miami; from the Atlantic Coast of North Carolina to the mountains of Utah. Beginning in 2002, we greatly expanded our GIS & Mapping divisions in providing extensive services to the Dept of Defense under the Global Geospatial Intelligence (GGI) contract for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) as well as state and local clients.
Today the resources of Wiser Company provide services to Federal, State, Local and Commercial clients. Our Murfreesboro and Birmingham offices are located in two of the fastest growing areas in the U.S., and Cy's vision of a company dedicated to Client service has been realized.
