Service Technician (Former Employee), Wixom, MI – May 15, 2013
Pros: weekly pay and benefits start on day 1
Cons: you go home filthy/ bad weather conditions, and on call
Wolverine is a solid company to work for. The HR department welcomes you with open arms and will go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable coming in the door . You get a steady flow of work and the freedom of not having someone over your shoulder all the time. But this can be a catch 22 in the generator service industry. They send you to – more... training 3 to 4 days at a time but that energy is almost lost after you return into the field. Because, what you may have learned does not come up on the job for possibly quite sometime. Then you forget and have to scramble through manuals or keep calling other (busy)technicians who might be able to help you over the phone 50% of the time. Pressure may be applied at from dispatch at times and this can be hard because they are not able to understand what you may be up against. But all in all if you have some automotive back round and are good with a multi meter this may be a match made in heaven You get to see all of the beauty of MI as you work and return home daily. Good people, Good company, but the job (engine wrenching, oil & fluid changes) wasn't for me. You will work hard for your money. – less
Electrical Field Technician (Former Employee), Wixom, MI – June 23, 2012
Pros: best co-workers in the business
Cons: being on call 24/7
GREAT TEAM WORK WITH FELLOW CO-WORKERS AND MANAGEMENT IS TOLERABLE. THE SEND YOU TO SCHOOL TO LEARN AND GET CERTIFIED ON WHAT YOUR WORK ON. THE BEST PART IS BEING ABLE TO SCHEDULE YOUR OWN JOBS FOR THE DAY AND THE WORST PART IS BEING ON CALL 24/7 EVEN HOLIDAYS.
