About Work for Progress

Alliance for Work-Life Progress® (AWLP) is the leading not-for-profit professional association committed to the development and advancement of the field of work-life effectiveness. Founded in 1996, AWLP strives to improve the professionalism of those working in the work-life arena and influence better integration of work and family life. In addition – more... to serving as the membership association and thought-leader for the profession, AWLP also addresses work-life issues through publications, forums, surveys and as an education provider, including certificate courses. An affiliate organization of WorldatWork, AWLP has its headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Originally founded as The Alliance for Work/LifeProfessionals, AWLP was the result of a merger between two professional organizations , The Association of Child Care Consultants International (founded in the late 1980s) and The National Work Family Alliance (formed in 1993). The name was changed to Alliance for Work-Life Progress in 2003.

Affiliation with AWLP directly benefits members through the positive changes we can influence as a leader in the profession with the largest voice for work-life issues, and through our relationships with other influential work-life and human resources organizations. Our partnerships with The Boston College Center for Work & Family, the Families and Work Institute, and Fortune magazine on our National Work-Life Initiative enable us to help shape the profession.

AWLP's plans for the future include a continually expanding level of service to members based on the evolution of their jobs and the progress of the work-life profession. We will continue expanding our ability to leverage and positively influence the decisions that impact the profession. And, the association will continue to be responsive and proactive on the profession's behalf, providing educated answers and thoughtful opinions to those who, like us, have an interest in helping businesses prosper by keeping employees engaged and armed with the ability to manage work-life effectiveness.

AWLP recently became an affiliate of WorldatWork, a 23,000-member education association whose mission is to advance the state of the profession in compensation, benefits and total rewards. Together, AWLP and WorldatWork represent a human resources profession that is rapidly moving toward a "total rewards" value package for employees that, in turn, helps employers attract, retain and motivate the talent needed to stay competitive. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
