Operations Contractor, Coeur d'Alene, ID - March 15, 2017
A typical day at work usually starts around 7am. Depending on the event I would usually attend the morning meetings to discuss permitting requirements for the city. after the meetings are over I would manage small groups (4-10 people) to large groups (20-50 people) depending on the task needed to be done to set up the event. This process can last from 3 days too about 7 days again depending on the size of the event.
What I learned from working in the event world is how to manage groups of people to help fulfill the requirements needed to be done to make each event run as smoothly as possible. Also I learned a lot about time management and meeting deadlines as required.
The work place culture Is very fast pace. Some times even long hours. This can cause it tp be very difficult at sometimes. This is why it takes good management to help fulfill deadlines.
The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that a good event was produced and the majority of the people participating were happy.
