Worlds Of Fun Food and Beverage Associate (Former Employee) – Kansas City, MO – February 17, 2018
I worked at World's Of Fun for 2 years when I was a minor, 14 and 15, from April 2016 all the way through December 30th, 2017. The job kind of sucked. I never knew how bad it really was until I started working at Pizza Hut in 2018, but after seeing how standards should be for a reputable, healthy restaurant, I realize now that things were not as they should be. The backs of stores were often very dirty and poorly cleaned, the food quality was sub-par for the price, and the management used little of their authoritative power to ensure their employees did as they should be required to do in order to retain their job. The co-workers were often poor excuses for workers, sadly, many having dropped out of high school or still in high school. Even supervisors and managers are in high school, I shared schools with 2 of my supervisors before I quit. The process of food storage and cooking was often overlooked by employees, which isn't entirely the fault of management, apart from the fact that many, many employees went untrained, the sum of training being their first night being told what to do by angry, sweaty, rushing, understaffed co-workers and underqualified supervisors. Not to mention, for most employees who are minors, overtime is not legal, yet I know I worked at least 30 hours of overtime in my 2 years, and was not paid a dime extra for it.
