We process steel for more than 1,200 customers across many industries including automotive, lawn and garden, construction, hardware, office furniture, electrical control, appliance, agriculture and HVAC. Servicing the stainless steel market, our Precision Specialty Metals business is the nation's leading conversion mill offering precision light-gauge strip and sheet products.

Worthington Steel is looking for an individual to assume the Cost Accountant role in Columbus, OH. This position is responsible for maintaining several key components of product costing and must thoroughly understand the mechanics of Oracle Costing.

General Responsibilities:

-Maintain Total Landed Cost Model (TLC) for all active raw material items
-Maintain monthly raw material current replacement costs (CRC)
-Maintain plant specific packaging models and update calculated packaging costs on a bi-annual basis with monthly updates for new items
-Maintain Blanket Sales Order Report (BSA Report) and publish weekly exception report to Sales and Purchasing
-Support the business through cost analysis as needed
-Create new reporting as needed to support business needs
-Further refine product costing as business needs dictate
-Provide financial support to the Steel Finance Group
-Communicate costing initiatives and processes to all users of costing data
-Other duties and special projects as assigned
-Promote Worthington’s philosophy.

Skills & Requirements:
-Ability to quickly adapt to changing environment
-Ability to manage large complex projects
-Oracle knowledge and experience
-Cognos Report writing experience
-Exceptional organizational, analytical, communication and problem solving skills
-Highly motivated
-Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision
-Excellent attention to detail
-Ability to work independently or as part of a group when needed
-High level of proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office)
-Knowledge of Worthington Industry guidelines, industry best practices and ERP business rules a plus
-Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
-Cost Accounting experience also required.
