Worthington Steel is looking for a Part Time Quality Control Technician in Columbus, OH. The QC technician will assist operations and quality departments by performing routine testing of material. Position is Part Time hourly (25 to 35 hours per week) with Day/Midnight shift responsibilities.

General Responsibilities:

-Receive and inspect incoming Steel samples

-Prepare samples using industrial equipment (hydraulic shear, hydraulic presses, milling machine, band saw, bench grinder)

-Test material hardness, strength and ductility

-Analyze material using a light microscope

-Enter results in production database and certify conforming material

Skills:

-High school diploma or equivalent

-Good computer and math skills

-Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel College coursework a plus

-Experience and training in laboratory or manufacturing environments a plus

-Training will be provided in safety, sample preparation and

-The environment is Industrial/Office and the position requires standing for extended periods of time

-Applicants must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
