We are a large distributor located in the midwest and northeast; we are currently hiring a CSR to service our Midwest customers and contribute to the growth of the Company. You will work in our Kansas City, MO office.
In this role you will exude a positive and friendly demeanor and voice to all customers (internal and external) as you respond to incoming calls pertaining to customer orders, item inquiries, and price quotes. You are responsible for recording/resolving problems pertaining to orders and investigating back ordered merchandise. You are expected to up-sell and offer substitutes when available.
Receive incoming customer calls (65-90 per day) and assist customers in placing orders
Enter and modify on-line orders
Guide customers when placing orders, including “up selling” products.
Write orders for non-stock merchandise
Respond to customer requesting pricing and other information pertaining to both stock and non-stock merchandise
Investigate back ordered merchandise and offer substitutes when available
Maintain product information files
Fax information to customer
Assist with new employee training while taking inbound calls
Record and resolve customer problems
Participate in phone blitz sales days in alignment with company sales goals.
Make outbound phone calls to new and existing customers to identify opportunities and increase sales
Other duties related to sales / customer service as assigned by Customer Service Manager
Previous customer service experience, positive attitude, friendly and upbeat personality
High School Education or equivalent experience
Add, subtract, multiply, divide, unit of measure conversion
Able to communicate with customers, vendors and other employees (both orally and in writing) in a professional and tactful manner
PC literacy, Excel & SAP preferred
Sales or customer service (call center) background strongly preferred
