A typical day consists of shooting 3 different news stories and editing for the daily evening newscasts, in addition to covering any breaking news that occurs.
When covering investigative stories, daily tasks are centered around one story. I-team pieces are longer in format, given more creative freedom and are allotted more time to complete. Occasionally there are day-turn stories, but most air during sweeps.
Overall, you can learn a lot at WWLP. It's a relatively small station that tackles news like a top 50 market. The newsroom is full of young and energetic people, qualities that are not lost in the on air product.
