A great gym crippled by bad choices
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  Bronx, NYSeptember 19, 2017
Xsport fitness is a lot of gym for the price but terrible work culture, sleazy management and incompetent corporate office ruin its potential to be truly amazing.
Pros
Competitive prices, expanding locations, great equipment
Cons
Terrible benefits, low pay, corrupt management

Not the best place to work
Assistant Spa Manager (Former Employee) –  Melrose Park, ILAugust 31, 2017
Would not recommend Xsport fitness as a place to work, poor management. Unreasonable hours and goals. Typical work day is you coke in, clock in with the finger scanner and make calls all day or harass people for sales.
Pros
Discount on clothes
Cons
Terrible management

A very stressful and awkward place to work. There is constant inappropriate relationships going on at work. Being a person who is married and has a family it was very uncomfortable coming to work everyday.

Depends on Location
Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 22, 2017
Xsport is okay to work depending on the location. I was there for about six months and honestly, there is no room for growth. They are always pushing you to constantly gain memberships even if it means forging information.

Self reliance is key
Assistant Operations Manager (Former Employee) –  Arlington Heights, ILAugust 22, 2017
I would say to anyone looking to work here to keep to yourself and get your work done well. It is fast paced which I enjoy. There are goals to be met so setting your own and knocking them out is a plus. The workplace has a revolving door of new employees so again, stay to yourself and get your work done. There are opportunities to move up within the company but the difference in pay doesn't amount to the difference in work.

Fitness Manager & PT (Former Employee) –  Crestwood, ILAugust 20, 2017
Job is very competitive and depending on your position your job is not secured month to month. Advancement is not based on pecking order but production.

Summary
Sales Manager (Current Employee) –  Arlington Heights, ILJuly 28, 2017
It's a sketchy place to work. the company doesn't like to pay. Decommissions are terrible. the company takes more than half your money. So if you make $1500 on a commission check, the company will take $900 dollars then you get taxed on it as well. Its dumb
Pros
Free Gym membership
Cons
company doesn't pay well, also demands a lot.

Great environment
Personal Trainer Manager (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILJuly 11, 2017
The job atmosphere was amazing when people where not messing with peoples money. Old systems made everything impossible to do. No work life balance.
As a manager expected to work 60-70+ hours.
No direct deposit.
All billing issues take weeks to dispute.
Constant missing money on checks and commission. That would take months to get back. Longest I waited was 3 months.
Pros
Free membership.
Cons
Hours, Pay, everything is through paper nothing through computers.

Front Desk Associate/ Massage Therapist (Current Employee) –  Alexandria, VAJuly 11, 2017
I work part time at a very busy Xsport location Spa and I am continually impressed by the management and overall staff I come into contact with. Everyone is caring, hard working, and genuine. Client base varies with regard to attitude toward employees, a gym atmosphere is slightly different than other spa or retail environments.
Pros
great co workers, flexibility in schedule
