Yale Capital Corp. is an SEC-registered independent investment advisor, with over $750MM under management for some thirty high-net-worth family client groups. The firm provides highly customized and tax-efficient investment advice, cash management services through a third party custodian, and master limited partnership management. The firm managers believe in semi-efficient markets, and that clients benefit more from sound asset allocation and tax-efficient management than they do from security selection and active trading. Offices are located in downtown Saint Petersburg, FL and near Austin, TX with clients located throughout the United States.

The firm is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated business/economics graduate to support the firm’s chairman and team of portfolio analysis and business development professionals. The position provides operational, administrative and analytical assistance to the chairman and business development team; furthermore, the role exists in order to support the Managing Director in producing client performance and holding reports, GIPS compliant performance presentations, asset allocation presentations and other investment related reports, as needs arise. The position provides opportunities to learn varied aspects of the investment advisory business and offers significant scope for skills and career development.

Assistant/Analyst (hybrid role)
Reports to: Managing Director and Chairman/CIO
Location: Near Austin, TX

Position Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Bloomberg; and ability to learn new data management software programs
  • Business/economics related degree preferred - with investment, finance, or accounting concentrations
  • Previous investment industry experience/internship experience
  • Ability to multi-task and to switch between extended-timeline projects
  • Excellent organization, communication, follow up and time management skills
  • Attention to detail critical
  • Ability to connect with clients and respond to ad-hoc analysis requests with accuracy and efficiency
  • Criminal and credit check required

Chairman & Business Development Assistance Duties:

  • Administrative/office assistance to include: filing, scanning, research, and other document assistance to chairman and business development employees; maintain office calendar; order office supplies; liaise with third-parties to ensure operational success; maintain office/kitchen (small) cleanliness; distribute mail; other reasonable administrative/operation tasks
  • General assistance: run business and personal errands for chairman
  • Travel: manage chairman and sales staff extensive travel arrangements – including regular rescheduling and last-minute changes that might occur during business trips
  • Marketing presentation preparation: proofing, printing
  • Communications: answer office phones (light call frequency); take detailed messages; interface with important clients with professionalism and friendliness; send client group emails for chairman
  • Executive assistance to chairman including running errands
  • Marketing presentation preparation: content contribution, proofing, printing, binding, sending
  • Sales activity reporting: collate and present business development employee performance data to company chairman
  • Compliance assistance: proof advertising for SEC compliance (training provided) and assist with compliance duties; ensure that office is cleared of any sensitive client information (e.g. reports and statements)
  • Data management: enter performance and asset data into manager databases

Analysis Duties:

  • Produce, monthly, quarterly, and on-request account summary, transaction detail, performance and other reports according to firm’s standard format (or customized according to specific client’s wishes)
  • Reconcile account holdings and other data to statements and custodian reports
  • Produce asset allocation/tax-efficient rebalancing documents for prospective and current clients according to investment policy or customized suggestion for clients
  • Execute daily download of data from custodian using PortfolioCenter (training provided)
  • Assist Managing Director in the production of GIPS-compliant performance reports for four composites following policies and procedures (training provided)
  • Assist in the production of accurate data to institutions and institutional advisor selection companies in due diligence questionnaires and RFP documents
  • Answer CPA requests
  • Assist in the production of financial models based on equity/fixed income/portfolio analysis
  • Produce compliant and informative presentation materials for prospective clients, demonstrating the investment philosophy and process of the RIA
  • Carry out data integrity checks in databases such as PortfolioCenter, Excel, CAPS and other software packages
  • Continuously seek to develop and improve RIA’s reports and presentations
