There is no typical day of work at Yankee Candle. What happens changes every single day. Some days it is all guest service while other days is processing shipment or working on creating displays for product. I loved the manager at the store I worked for, she was great, worked hard so everyone else did. She was very positive which made everyone else positive. Work was always good, we were usually pretty busy so it was easy to stay focused. Loved working there, get 50% off all the wax. And they love to make sure the staff is up to date in education about the candles, so you can properly sell them.

There is always something to do. A customer's in - you're making sure they know what's what (and Yankee makes sure you know what's what). Customer's out - you're resetting and restocking.

The people are great! I love coming to work each day. There is always something new to learn. I love to show off to the customers what I know and have learned.

Put in a lot of hours, which left no time for family and friends, very demanding and stressful management style.

no advancement, high turnover, higher up management is horrible

I've been working here since October and the company is different from others I've known. They care about your home life, and advancement. In addition, the location I work at is great! I haven't had any problems and the manager is really flexible

Overall my experience working at Padova was a positive one. I got along well with all my co-workers and the management was great. Sometimes during the holiday season it got a little hectic but time flies when your busy so I really didn't mind.

Was recruited from Carter's to be Store Manager for the Boise Yankee Candle store that was to open. Opened the store and found that Yankee Candle Co. had poor work life balance, was disorganized and was quick to make accusations that were false against me. Don't waste your time working for this company.

Yankee Candle once upon a time was a great place to work, but as a lot of companies that "go corporate" do, it's become less about the individual and more about the production. Last I checked on this place, it's all temporary associates where I used to work.

My job was very flexable and I really loved my job. However they did not advance members through skill they advanced through how freindly you were to the manager

Yankee Candle has the best products in the industry today! However, it is an entirely too top heavy organization. As such a large company they are not able to be as responsive to their "on the ground" employees. Entirely too many inspections of whether displays were accurate to corporate flyers. Our region seemed less interested in building a strong – more...  connection with the community than to strict adhering to corporate norms. I really enjoyed the work atmosphere there. The management was pretty good and their customer service was great.

Great place to work. Competitive pay. Great benefits. I enjoyed the training on candle making, it helps create great relationships with customers when the employees are knowledgeable.

In general I liked working for Yankee but ended up leaving because of a passive aggressive Store Manager. She would have been easier to work for but her boss was a beast too.
