Material Planner (Current Employee) –  Canton, MIMay 10, 2017
Typical work week is front loaded. Monday-Wednesday days are much busier than Thursday/Friday. Not bad for wanting to get out for the weekend early but makes for long beginnings.

Also we were told that our jobs were safe but they're all being moved to Mexico.

Great work-life balance
Senior Supply Chain Engineer (Current Employee) –  El Paso, TXMay 1, 2017
Management encourages to keep a balanced work-life load. Hardest part of the job is navigating through the processes across the different entities in other countries.

Over all is a great company to work for Unfortunately there is a particular department that it is extremely hostile.
Expeditor (Former Employee) –  El Paso, TXApril 19, 2017
Over all is a great company to work for Unfortunately there is a particular department that it is extremely hostile.

A typical day at work is tense not due to the work load but to the environment.

Thru the years they provided great training.

Yazaki North America
Coordinator - Sales (Former Employee) –  Lexington-Fayette, KYMarch 6, 2017
Morning would start with checking purchase orders.
Go from there to determined which carlines need attention. Call our affiliates, to see where are production on our parts. When they would be built and when they would be ship to the U.S.

Management was fair and strong. Not only would they help, they would go out of their way to make sure the job was done right.

Workplace culture was good. I enjoyed everyone I worked with

Hardest part of the job was getting parts and other materials out of Mexico.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with such great people and for a great company.

Low Supervisors Tolerance
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  El Paso, TXFebruary 21, 2017
Supervisors there treat you as you as a soldiers, demanding the job be done not matter what, if you feel sick or have a personal emergency, the Supervisor tell you to finish what you are doing before you get out, nothing have to be pending for the next day

There is no co-workers camaraderie, if Supervisors and Management's see that, basically push you be out of that for them is only PRODUCTION , PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION 110 %

They ask everything from you, work, loyalty, time, etc. but treat you as a machine without feelings and without sickness or tiredness, not as a human being, sometimes worked 10 to 14 hours a day (the first 5 extra hours were never paid) and Supervisor get very upset if you asked for a permission to leave 5 minutes early or warning you if you get 2 minutes late, telling associates you were 3 minutes late yesterday and 1 minute today you better watch out at least you want to start coming at 8 am
Pros
Free Lunch once a year
Cons
short breaks, very demanding jobs

Lead Instructional Designer (Current Employee) –  Canton, MIJanuary 6, 2017
As a far-flung corporate entity communication is often a problem, especially for those whose work deals with every corner of that far-flung structure. That said, Yazaki is staffed with a huge percentage of 'yes men' and consensus builders - not decision-making leaders.
Pros
Very nice people in an unusual, beautiful setting
Cons
Near total lack of decision-making leadership.
