Everyone is familiar with the yellow fingers or the thick, colorful directory dropped on your doorstep as children. While employed at Yellowbook, it was made very obvious that advancement was based on favoritism rather than aptitude. This was evident in senior management being overlooked for opportunities to capable staff being let go due to perceived "attitudes".
The organization did recognize its employees, but the recognition did not include monetary compensation.Information was not always divulged from the top down, so employees were often blind-sided by changes to processes within the hour. – less
